This content-rich session offers grades 5–8 science educators an in-depth exploration of wave phenomena, emphasizing the fundamental differences between transverse and longitudinal waves. Participants will examine the physical principles governing wave behavior, including frequency, wavelength, amplitude, and energy transfer. The session also provides a comprehensive look at the electromagnetic spectrum—its organization, characteristics of each region, and how wave properties vary across the spectrum. Grounded in the TEKS, this session is designed to enhance educators’ conceptual understanding and provide a solid foundation for teaching wave-related content with confidence and accuracy.
